Trees always had a special energy for me. But the more our world get’s complex and technology based, the more I see a true relief for me going into deep forests. Especially in times when we shall ‚socially distance‘, this place of natural giantness is healing my soul. Mind and body will instantly recognize how small we actually are and how quick time passes.

In my Instagram profile I continously upload portraits of those giants I pass on my daily hikes or little adventures. All of them were captured in Austria, mainly Lower Austria. I don‘t geotag my pics to preserve privacy of trees and the owners of the woods.

I don’t spend a lot of time in planning my tree shots, I’m just trying to ‚feel’ the different angles.
Very often I shoot from a very low position where you can actually smell the soil around you. I love the smell of the forest, and getting dirty while taking pictures is a part of the game for me.
